Stealth Drives - Tools and Materials
A few tools and materials we'll need to do the job. No soldering, just some Dremel work and maybe some hot glue.
The drive mounted normally. Note the swank spider-man badge. This would be my son's PC... Also, in the upper right is the drive cover that was stealthing the drive I'm replacing...
The stuff we'll need:
- The optical drive
- The drive bay cover for your case.
- Some velcro with adhesive backs
- Something to depress the eject button... I used a self adhesive rubber foot I picked up at Radio Shack, others have used Lego pieces or pencil erasers.
- Something to cut the drive cover. A Dremel works great.
- Possibly a hot glue gun...
- A paperclip and some tiny screwdrivers...
