Tatts

For someone who hates needles, I'm a big fan of tattoos.
The first was a Larry Ewing Tux the penguin. I settled on the left ankle with penguin feet 'walking' around the ankle. As it turns out it felt just like I expected... That is, as if someone is carving on you with an X-acto knife.

Next up was the biggie. Around the fall of 2000 these funky renders for Penguin Computing started showing up in the Linux mags (one of which I was writing for...) The Born to Frag was about the coolest I'd ever seen.

I found the artist, Tipatat Chennavasin, and asked for permission to use it for a tatt.
Then my editor, Bryan Del Rizzo, thought it would be cool to videotape it, grab some pics and put both in the mag. Some pics and an email interview with Tipatat were in the issue, and an MPEG of the video made it onto the CD for that month. Alas, there was no sound as the only thing that got picked up was 45 mins. of BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....
